Genoa have submitted an offer to Defensor for talented defender Alan Matturro, who was being closely followed by Inter.

The Nerazzurri sent director Dario Baccin to South America recently to personally scout a number of players, and one that caught his eye was the 18-year-old Matturro. The Uruguayan teenager has impressed in the Defensor defence and is already a first team regular at the club, playing 1975 minutes of action across 26 appearances this season.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Genoa seem to have beaten Inter to the punch and have sent in a convincing offer to Defensor for Matturro. The Serie B outfit have offered a deal worth €3m plus €1m in add-ons and a 20% future resale clause.

Matturro still needs to agree personal terms with the Rossoblu but is keen on the idea of joining the club, happy to get his first taste of action in Europe.

Defensor president Alberto Ward confirmed that “it is practically closed with” Genoa when speaking to AM 970 Universal.

Genoa have sent scouts to Uruguay for the last few months to watch the 18-year-old closely and now they’re ready to bring him over to Europe.
