Genoa President Enrico Preziosi admits an interest in Daniele Rugani, but M’Baye Niang will return to Milan.

Rugani is owned by Juventus, but spent this season at Empoli, where he won plaudits for his displays, playing every minute of the campaign without being booked.

The defender is preparing for the Under-21 European Championships in the Czech Republic, but the Grifone patron hints at a loan move for the youngster.

“We’ll see for Rugani,” Preziosi told Il Giornale della Liguria.

“We could close things this week, but then again Juve could decide to keep him. We’ll do all we can to please [Coach Gian Piero] Gasperini."

Preziosi was less optimistic about Niang, claiming that Sinisa Mihajlovic, who is expected to be appointed Milan Coach, wants him to return to San Siro.

“I tried to redeem him, but Mihajlovic wants him to come back to Milan at all costs.”
