Genoa have claimed that they will try to sign a Juventus striker in January – either Amauri or Fabio Quagliarella.

Speaking to the Corriere dello Sport, President Enrico Preziosi revealed a number of his future transfer plans.

"Amauri and Quagliarella are two attackers who I like and who I am interested in," the toy tycoon noted.

"We have to be alert in January because we can't afford to make any mistakes as we want to improve on last season."

Amauri is likely to be sold by Juve seeing as he is only contracted to the Bianconeri until June 2012 and he has been frozen out of the first team plans of Antonio Conte.

Quagliarella, meanwhile, has made just one substitute appearance for the Turin giants so far this season.

The Marassi chief also admitted that he tried to sign two Italian internationals during the summer window.

"I made Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”16″>Fiorentina an offer for €10m, plus bonuses, for Alberto Gilardino," he added. "They turned it down.

"I also spoke to Milan's Antonio Cassano and Diego Forlan [before he left Atletico Madrid for Inter]."

Preziosi continued that he expects to do business with Inter again in the future.

"There is a promise between myself and Diego Milito. Genoa is his home and he'll end his career here.

"It's the same case for Thiago Motta.

"Juraj Kucka to Inter? Yes, but I need a player in exchange. Someone like Joel Obi…"
