Both Genoa and Sampdoria are desperate for points in tonight’s Derby of the Lantern, with the Blucerchiati also dealing with off-the-pitch issues.

Their president Massimo Ferrero was arrested on Monday for alleged financial crimes that don’t involve the club. Ferrero has stepped down from his role and is no longer eligible according to FIGC rules.

On the other hand, Genoa have recently changed their ownership and coach but haven’t scored a goal during Andriy Shevchenko’s four games in charge.

They sit 19th in the standings with 10 points in 16 matches.

However, the former Milan striker sees Domenico Criscito, Stefano Sturaro, Mattia Destro and Nikola Maksimovic return to action.

Destro is likely to start on the bench, while Criscito and Sturaro should start.

Roberto D’Aversa has Omar Colley back after a one-match ban, while Manolo Gabbiadini is not fully fit, so Fabio Quagliarella is tipped to start along with Francesco Caputo in attack.

Mikkel Damsgaard and Ernesto Torregrossa are still on the sidelines due to injuries.

Probable line-ups

Genoa (3-5-2): Sirigu; Biraschi, Vasquez, Criscito; Sabelli, Sturaro, Badelj, Hernani, Cambiaso; Pandev, Ekuban.

Sampdoria (4-4-2): Audero; Bereszynski, Yoshida, Colley, Augello; Candreva, Adrien Silva, Ekdal, Thorsby; Caputo, Quagliarella.
