The Rossoneri hope to keep their Serie A winning run going but these Genoa vs. Milanpredictions suggest this could be a close one. Stefano Pioli’s side has won three league matches in a row but comes up against a giant-killing Rossoblu side

Milan look to protect their winning run against Genoa as they travel to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Saturday afternoon. The Rossoneri have overcome their opponents in all of the last four times of asking but face the strongest Grifone side in several years.

Milan have had a positive start to their campaign and sit joint top of the Serie A table, level with their bitter rivals Inter. The fact that Stefano Pioli’s side have done so while navigating a Champions League ‘group of death’ is particularly impressive, although Saturday’s match against Genoa will be a test following a gruelling trip to face Borussia Dortmund in midweek.

One of the main reasons for Milan’s early season success is their strengthening in depth up front over the summer. The arrival of Christian Pulisic, Noah Okafor and Samuel Chuwueze has allowed the coach to rotate his starting XI without a significant drop in quality. That is unlike last season, so we therefore back the Rossoneri to secure a win this weekend.

Neutrals have good reason to get excited for the clash at the Marassi, with encounters between the two sides tending to provide good entertainment. In fact, there has been an average of three goals per game over the past six clashes between the teams. A wager on over 2.5 scored yet again may well pay off, especially given that both teams are free-scoring in the league at the moment.

While Milan have good reason for confidence ahead of Saturday’s match, the visitors should be cautious of underestimating their hosts. Alberto Gilardino’s side may have only won twice this season, but those came against Roma and Lazio, with a point also taken against Napoli. Clearly raising their level against top teams, a bet on the Grifone to win would provide a solid return.

Furthermore, Genoa appear to have uncovered a gem in Albert Gudmundsson, with the Icelandic forward scoring three goals in his last two games. While many expected Mateo Retegui to be the key man signed in the summer, it is his strike partner grabbing the headlines – and we back Gudmundsson to pose a threat to Milan on Saturday.

Milan team news

Stefano Pioli is expected to rotate heavily but is without a number of key faces in midfield. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has joined Ismael Bennacer and Rade Krunic in the treatment room, meaning Tommaso Pobega may feature from the start. Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze are both likely to start too.
