Genoa are said to already be negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur to purchase Djed Spence outright after his loan spell.

The right-back arrived at Marassi during the January transfer window, on loan with an option to buy for €10m.

He has made nine Serie A appearances in the Grifone jersey, starting five and coming off the bench in four.

According to Caught Offside, Genoa directors are so impressed with Spence that they are in talks to make the move permanent, but hoping to get a lower fee if they do the deal ahead of time.

Tottenham had paid €14.7m to buy Spence from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022, sending him on loan to Stade Rennais and Leeds United.

The latter experience was interrupted early in January so that he could move to Genoa and try a new adventure in Serie A instead.

Genoa were promoted from Serie B last season and are comfortably mid-table in 12th place thanks to nine wins, 11 draws and 11 defeats.
