Mattia Destro is officially a new Genoa player after arriving on loan from Bologna, but Muamer Tankovic is left “frustrated” by the change of plan.
Destro had his medical this week and the contract has now been deposited, a six-month loan until he becomes a free agent in June.
He is only the latest new player picked up by Genoa in the January transfer window after Valon Behrami for free and Mattia Perin on loan from Juventus.

However, Destro’s arrival means Tankovic is even less likely to complete his transfer, having undergone a medical with Genoa in November.
“The club fired Thiago Motta and changed their director of sport,” explained Hammarby striker Tankovic to Swedish newspaper Expressen.
“There is still a possibility, but the situation is frustrating. I went to Genoa for the medical and it was all pretty clear, but now nothing is certain. The club took a long time to consider and we haven’t had any more news from them.
“It’s frustrating, but it would not be a problem for me to remain at Hammarby until the summer. Genoa have to resolve their own problems before considering anything else.”
