Genoa have distanced themselves from links with Walter Gargano, Luca Cigarini and Salvatore Sirigu.

All three players have been strongly paired with the Marassi outfit, but President Enrico Preziosi has cooled the speculation.

"I don't know where the Cigarini story came from," Preziosi told Radio Kiss Kiss after reports of talks for the Napoli player.

"We're not doubting the player's ability, because that can't be questioned, but we already have a packed midfield.

"It's the same situation with regard to Napoli's Gargano too," he added. "At Genoa, we are full in the middle."

Palermo 'keeper Sirigu was again paired with the Rossoblu after Genoa offered Eduardo in exchange for the Italian.

"We already have a goalkeeper who will be our first choice next season if we can't find a move for him," the Marassi chief added.

"Eduardo made a few mistakes last season, but he also played very well. It was his first year in Italy, I just can't throw him away.

"I'll only talk about goalkeepers when the Eduardo situation is resolved."
