Genoa have announced that two members of the matchday squad, who are not players, tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of tonight’s match with Juventus.

It kicks off in Turin at 19.45 GMT at the Allianz Juventus Stadium.

Unusually, the Grifone had not yet announced their squad for tonight’s game under coach Andriy Shevchenko.

The club did release a statement from the medical staff this afternoon, confirming that two members of the matchday squad – who are not players – have tested positive for COVID-19.

All the other members of the group tested negative.

The local health authorities have been alerted and all the procedures have been put in place, including the isolation of the two figures.

Meanwhile, the same statement notes that midfielder Milan Badelj has come down with flu symptoms overnight and has a temperature.

He has tested negative for COVID-19 in a swab taken this morning.

COVID continues to affect Serie A sides, as Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin is in self-isolation as a precaution after coming into contact with someone outside the Bianconeri camp who tested positive for COVID-19.
