Genoa say they are ready to meet Milan for Krzysztof Piatek but ‘don’t think Mario Balotelli is a realistic possibility’.

Piatek seems increasingly destined to replace Gonzalo Higuain at Milan, and sporting director Giorgio Perinetti confirmed Genoa were prepared to sell them the Pole if the price was right, while distancing the Grifone from Balotelli.

“In Serie A it’s difficult to see big changes and certain players move,” he told Radio CRC.

“Now we’re experiencing the Higuain saga, which maybe will involve us too. We’ve said we’re not going to offer Piatek, Romero and Kouame around and it’s not our intention to sell them, but they’re players who attract interest.

“Likelihood of Piatek leaving? I don’t know. We don’t want to sell him, but we have to listen to the offers that come in.

“Nothing’s been done yet, only contact with Milan, who told us that they wanted to talk about him after the Supercoppa.

“We haven’t met Leonardo yet, but it’s likely that we will if they want to. Who will replace him? It’s not an issue for us as we still don’t know if he’ll go.

“Balotelli? I don’t think it’s a realistic possibility.”
