Genoa confirm they could re-sign Miguel Veloso but maintain hotshot Krzysztof Piatek will not be sold in January.

Giorgio Perinetti was asked by Primo Canale about whether Veloso was close to a third spell with Genoa and the club had changed their stance on the free-scoring Piatek.

“I don’t know what we’ll do, but I see Veloso every day and I can assure you that he’s a very good player and a great professional,” replied the general manager.

“Piatek’s been the great revelation of the campaign and we have to enjoy him, not only as a club but also as fans.

“It’s normal that there are already several clubs interested in him. He’s scored many goals and he’s the League’s top scorer.

“When love is born, one isn’t already thinking about the day it can end. Now we just have to let him do his thing, but we’rre not worried because he’s a grounded lad who seems to be living through this situation in a small bubble.

“However, as President Preziosi said, he won’t leave in January because we can do great things with him.”
