Prandelli confirmed there were “heated discussions” in the dressing room at half-time during Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Udinese after reports of a blazing row between several players.

“A preamble to training with few but clear words, between taking of responsibility, official apologies and a lid put on it all by the usual common sense of Coach Prandelli.

“Then everyone back out to start training stronger and more united than ever ahead of the midweek round with Inter.”

According to Sky Sport Italia and Telenord, the players who apologised to the rest of the squad were Pedro Pereira, Ervin Zukanovic and Miguel Veloso.

In particular, Veloso wasn’t even playing against Udinese, but still got involved in the row as everyone walked back down the tunnel at the break.
