Genoa confirm “we are down to the details” for 16-year-old striker Pietro Pellegri’s transfer to Monaco, despite Juventus interest.

The forward is expected to have his medical in the Principality on Saturday morning.

“We are down to the details for Pellegri’s sale to Monaco,” Genoa director of sport Giorgio Perinetti told Sportitalia this evening.

A deal has been struck for €23m plus bonuses and giving Genoa a 10 per cent cut of any future transfer fee over €40m.

Pellegri, who turns 17 in March, will sign a five-year contract starting at €1m per season.

He has made only eight Serie A appearances, but scored three goals.

Pellegri made his top flight debut at the age of 15 years and 280 days, a joint Serie A record.

Juventus had been in negotiations this morning, but their offer of €10m plus various bonuses was blown out of the water.

Monaco will also be able to guarantee fairly regular playing time in Ligue 1 and the Champions League straight away, as he replaces Guido Carrillo, who was sold to Southampton this week.
