Genoa have contacted Olympique Marseille to explore a last-minute move for Portuguese forward Vitinha.

The Rossoblu already completed some business with the French club in the summer transfer window, signing Ruslan Malinovskyi on a loan deal with a €10m buy option attached. The Ukrainian midfielder has done fairly well in Liguria, scoring twice and providing two assists so far this term.

Alberto Gilardino did well with Genoa in the first half-season back in the Italian topflight, putting them comfortably mid-table after 22 games, picking up 28 points from seven wins and seven draws.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Genoa are interested in signing Vitinha and have opened talks with Marseille to start exploring a last-minute loan deal with a buy option attached, which would be set at around €20-25m.

As part of the deal, the Ligurian outfit will activate Malinovskyi’s buy option early, deepening the relations between the two clubs.

This season, Vitinha has scored four goals and provided three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions for Marseille.
