Genoa are extremely active on the transfer market, close to Nikola Maksimovic, Martin Caceres and FC Nantes midfielder Abdoulaye Touré.

The Grifone lost their Serie A opener 4-0 to Inter and that sparked panic-buying from President Enrico Preziosi.

According to Sky Sport Italia, coach Davide Ballardini will have several new players over the weekend.

Maksimovic is the first, as he arrived in Milan tonight and will undergo his medical tomorrow, as a free agent following the end of his contract with Napoli.

Former Fiorentina and Juventus defender Caceres is also a free agent, the 34-year-old Uruguayan who had also been linked with Salernitana, Monza and Cagliari.

The surprise development tonight is Touré, the 27-year-old midfielder whose contract with FC Nantes was into the final 12 months.

A product of the Nantes youth academy, he essentially spent his entire career at the club, but is now ready to try his hand at Serie A for Genoa.

Sky Sport Italia report this is a deal worth €3.5m and he will sign a three-year contract with option for a fourth.
