New Genoa director of sport Daniele Faggiano confirms Rolando Maran will become their coach later this week.
“There are some red tape issues that need to be sorted out first, but Maran will be made official soon,” said Faggiano in a press conference.
Davide Nicola was Genoa’s third coach of the season when he steered them out of danger to secure Serie A safety on the last day of the season.
However, that was not enough to keep him in his post for the next term.

Vincenzo Italiano was the first choice, but newly-promoted Spezia refused to release him from his contract.
Roberto D’Aversa, sacked by Parma this week, was another interesting choice.
However, ex-Cagliari boss Maran swooped in, although first he must terminate his contract by mutual consent with Cagliari.
