Genoa's search for a replacement for the injured Christian Kouame could lead them to former Newcastle and Nice forward Hatem Ben Arfa.
Kouame ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament whilst playing for the Ivory Coast U-23s against South Africa and is out for five to six months.
This has led the Grifone scrambling trying to find a suitable replacement.
In recent days there has been links to Milan's Krzysztof Piatek, who left Genoa in January, and Hammarby's Muamer Hankovic.

Now Sky Sport Italia reports that Genoa are looking at Ben Arfa, who is out of contract since leaving Ligue 1 side Rennes at the end of last season.
The advantage with Ben Arfa is that because he's out of contract, he can be signed and introduced into the side immediately, as opposed to waiting until January.
Ben Arfa is 32 years old.
