Catania playmaker Francesco Lodi could be on his way to Genoa this transfer window, as reports indicate the Grifone are again tracking the midfielder.

The Grifone are understood to still be assessing options in the market to reinforce their midfield for new Coach Pasquale Marino, despite already bringing in Davide Biondini.

Tuttomercatoweb.com are running the line that Genoa are anticipating losing midfielder Juraj Kucka to Inter this month and in response are now reigniting interest in Catania’s influential midfielder Lodi as a replacement.

After spells with the likes of Empoli” data-scaytid=”12″>Empoli, Vicenza and Udinese” data-scaytid=”13″>Udinese, Lodi has risen to prominence with Gli Elefanti, demonstrating in particular a keen eye for a pass and an expert technique from dead-ball situations.

Lodi has already denied a move to Marassi, commenting only last week on previous rumours of the switch north.

“I am fine in Catania, I have no reason to leave. [Genoa’s attention] means that I am working well with my team and it is an incentive for me to try even harder.

“In the move to Genoa, though, there is nothing. To leave Catania would also not be easy for anyone, I am happy here.”

Other options believed to be on the Rossoblu’s radar include Cesena’s Antonio Candreva and Lodi’s teammate Marco Biagianti.
