Defending Serie A champions Inter visit Genoa at Marassi today with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram expected to start up front.

The 2024-25 Serie A campaign begins today with Inter meeting Genoa at Marassi.

It kicks off at 18:30 CET (16:30 GMT).

The Genoa stadium is sold out with over 33,000 supporters, including more than 3,000 from Milan.

The Nerazzurri are without the injured Piotr Zielinski, Stefan de Vrij and Tajon Buchanan, while Genoa must cope without Caleb Ekuban, David Ankeye, Alan Matturro, Alessandro Marcandalli and new signing Brooke Norton-Cuffy. Another new signing, Andrea Pinamonti, is expected to start on the bench.

Genoa have sold Mateo Retegui and Albert Gudmundsson in recent days.

Nicola Leali and Pierluigi Gollini fight for a starting spot in goal, while Inter only have a couple of doubts. Yann Aurel Bisseck favourite over Benjamin Pavard and Matteo Darmian should start as a right wing-back, pushing Denzel Dumfries to the bench.
