New Genoa director of sport Johannes Spors is reportedly in negotiations with Napoli-owned Eintracht Frankfurt forward Amin Younes.

The 28-year-old is still under contract with Napoli until June 2023, but currently on a two-season loan in Germany.

That move hasn’t gone as planned either and he has made just one competitive appearance for the club this season, for 37 minutes in the DFB Cup.

According to Bild Sport and Sky Sport Italia, new Genoa chief Spors met with agent Marijo Knez to discuss a possible transfer back to Serie A.

The issue is that Napoli are not prepared to sanction another loan, as they want him to move on a permanent basis.

They got Younes as a free agent when his contract with Ajax ran down in the summer of 2018, arriving after an Achilles tendon injury.

Although a German international with eight senior caps, he barely made a dent at Napoli, with 27 competitive appearances, but he did contribute four goals and three assists.
