The referee and two captains came back out after a break to test the turf, but it was simply not possible to continue.
The remaining 62 minutes will be played at a later date, most likely in November, as Fiorentina’s schedule is packed with the Europa League.

The Grifone were on sparkling form and surprisingly top of the table going into this weekend with a perfect record under new Coach Ivan Juric. On the other hand, the Viola scraped a 1-0 win over Chievo following their opening defeat at Juventus and missed injured Matias Vecino for this trip.
Fiorentina are something of a bogey team for Genoa, who haven’t beaten them home or away since a 2-1 Marassi result in October 2009, followed by just six draws and seven defeats.
The hosts started very aggressively and Ciprian Tatarusanu rushed off his line to nod away from Leonardo Pavoletti, but it fell to Luca Rigoni and his lob from distance had to be cleared off the line by Davide Astori.
Genoa threatened again when Diego Laxalt nodded a Darko Lazovic cross on to the bar, but a hailstorm suddenly exploded on top of Marassi and the referee was forced to suspend play after 28 minutes.
