Local reports suggest that Genoa are working on convincing Juventus to agree a deal for midfielder Fabio Miretti.

The 19-year-old Italian broke into Massimiliano Allegri’s first team in Turin this season, seeing 1832 minutes of action in 40 appearances across all competitions. He impressed and was touted as another example of the success of having a second team, developing in their ‘Next Gen’ squad.

Genoa secured promotion back to Serie A under coach Alberto Gilardino and they’re now working to strengthen their squad ahead of the season, wanting to avoid dropping back down to the second tier.

As reported by local paper Il Secolo XIX via TMW, Genoa are in close contact with Juventus as they try to find an agreement for Miretti. Initially, the Bianconeri resisted their efforts, but the Ligurian outfit are refusing to give up.

The Old Lady are preparing to start a new era in Turin following their various off-pitch concerns this season and are expected to trim their squad a little this summer.
