Genoa have appealed to the Italian Olympic Committee as they seek a licence to play in UEFA competition.
The Grifone were denied a UEFA licence by the FIGC, having failed to name a stadium in which they could play.
Stadio Luigi Ferraris, the club’s home ground is not considered up to scratch, and while co-tenants Sampdoria have agreed to play at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium, Genoa have failed to find a solution.

The club will now appeal to CONI, which oversees the FIGC, in the hope a higher body will allow them a licence.
“Genoa CFC announces that it has filed an appeal to the court of arbitration for UEFA licences at CONI.” the club announced via its official website.
The move casts Serie A into doubt, with the Grifone currently in sixth place. Without a UEFA licence, the final Europa League spot would go to the team which finishes seventh.
