According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is Aurelio De Laurentiis’ ‘dream’ to replace the departing Luciano Spalletti.

The Tuscan tactician is expected to leave the Stadio Maradona at the end of the season despite Napoli‘s decision to activate a clause to extend his stay until June 2024.

De Laurentiis appeared to confirm Spalletti’s exit on Friday night and according to Gazzetta, ADL is already working to find a replacement for the Certaldo-born boss.

The pink paper insists De Laurentiis has spoken to Rafa Benitez, although his dream would be Liverpool’s Klopp, a coach he already tried to hire in 2013.

According to the report, Klopp and ADL ‘respect each other.’ However, the German tactician is under contract until June 2026 at Anfield.

Antonio Conte and Gian Piero Gasperini have also been linked with the Napoli job and the same is true of Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano who has guided the Tuscans to two finals this season, in Coppa Italia and Conference League.
