Paul Pogba is waiting for a sporting trial after failing a doping test in August and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Adrien Rabiot and Timothy Weah are the closest teammates of the 2018 France World Cup winner.
Juventus host Udinese at the Allianz Stadium on Monday and it is somehow a meaningful game for Pogba, who failed a doping test after the reverse fixture in August when he spent the entire match on the bench.
Tests found DHEA in Pogba’s body, which can raise levels of testosterone.
Pogba has been precautionarily suspended and hasn’t trained with the rest of the team since September. As provided by the collective agreement between clubs and the players’ association, Pogba’s salary has been lowered to circa €2,000 per month following his precautionary ban.
Pogba is fighting to clear his name alongside his lawyers, and a sporting trial will take place after February 15, 2024.
Gazzetta explains that the Frenchman hasn’t left his home in Turin, the same as Cristiano Ronaldo during his three-year stay with the Bianconeri. Pogba spends time and trains with his wife, Maria Zulay, and has remained in touch with all his teammates, especially Rabiot and Weah, although he’s not allowed at Continassa.
Over the last few months, he was spotted at the Abu Dhabi F1 GP with his ex-Juventus teammate Patrice Evra and visited another ex-Bianconeri player, Miralem Pjanic, in Dubai.
He has rarely been seen at Juventus games, but he was at San Siro this past Sunday to watch a 1-0 loss against Inter alongside his compatriot Lilian Thuram, father of Inter striker Marcus.
Last week, he also met Weah’s father, George, in Turin after Juventus’ defeat against Inter.
