According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Davide Frattesi is not the only target for Milan after Sandro Tonali’s sale to Newcastle, as the Rossoneri are considering making an offer for Romelu Lukaku.

Tonali is on the verge of joining the Magpies for over €70m. The two clubs must agree on the financial details, but several sources in Italy claim the Italian midfielder has given the green light to move to the Premier League, so his transfer is practically a done deal.

The Serie A giants now have a considerable transfer budget to invest and all Italian sports papers, plus Sky Sport, suggest Frattesi is the designated candidate to replace Tonali at San Siro. Sassuolo’s asking price for the Italy international is €35-40m.

According to Gazzetta, Chelsea demand a similar fee for Lukaku, who can leave on a permanent transfer for €40m.

Inter can’t afford to pay such a fee and are pushing for a new loan deal. Milan are said to be interested in Lukaku and can now afford his purchase, but it remains to be seen if the Belgian will agree to join Inter’s harshest rivals.

Lukaku’s loan deal at Inter officially ends on June 30.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic are two more transfer targets for the Rossoneri.
