La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Jorge Mendes has offered Milan striker Rafael Leao to Real Madrid, but the Merengues are unwilling to make a big-money offer for the Portuguese striker.

Leao’s contract at San Siro expires in June 2024, but negotiations for a new deal have led nowhere so far.

According to Gazzetta, Mendes offered the Portuguese striker to Real Madrid last month, but the La Liga giants are unwilling to make a big-money offer for the 23-year-old, considering they already have a top player in Vini Jr. playing on the left wing.

The pink paper claims Mendes contacted Real Madrid directors in February, but negotiations haven’t continued.

The Portuguese agent is still among the representatives of Leao even if the striker’s family signed a contract with lawyer Ted Dimvula who has recently spoken on behalf of Leao, insisting that his client wants to remain at San Siro.

However, there are no signs that the 23-year-old will sign a new contract anytime soon, with Chelsea and Manchester City still monitoring him.

Leao served a one-match ban against Fiorentina on Saturday and will be back against Tottenham in the Champions League on March 8.
