According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez has demanded a €10m-a-year salary to extend his contract, while the Nerazzurri have offered €8m plus add-ons.

Lautaro Martinez and Inter have been in talks over a new deal for several months and even if both parties are confident of reaching an agreement shortly, there’s still a gap between the club’s proposal and the striker’s demands.

According to Gazzetta, Inter have offered Lautaro a new €8m-a-year contract plus add-ons, while the captain wants a €10m-a-year salary.

Talks will continue in the next few weeks, and Gazzetta claims the next meeting could take place in Madrid in March when Inter visit Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.

The agents of Lautaro Martinez, in fact, are based in the Spanish capital, so the upcoming trip to the country could offer a perfect chance for the two parties to sit down and finalise the deal.

Martinez’s contract at the Stadio Meazza runs out in June 2026 and according to Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri value him at €150m.
