La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Inter are set to re-establish their interest in Canada international and Club Brugge winger Tajon Buchanan in view of a potential move in the January transfer window.
The Nerazzurri have been following Buchanan for several windows already, and had reportedly eyed him up as a potential for Denzel Dumfries in the event that the Dutchman moved on in the summer.
Sporting director Piero Ausilio is thought to be a particular fan and was responsible for bringing Buchanan to the club’s attention according to La Gazzetta.
As per Friday’s report, Buchanan would serve as a rotation option with the aforementioned Dumfries. Inter’s current alternative, former Juventus stalwart Juan Cuadrado, has not fully convinced when given the opportunity.
Buchanan currently has a contract in Belgium until the summer of 2025, but has not renewed his current deal despite Club Brugge’s wishes.
At 24 years old, Buchanan is thought to be a player for both the present and future, and is someone who could provide the Nerazzurri with some reassurance if Dumfries were to leave the club in the coming seasons.
