Saturday afternoon’s reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that Massimiliano Allegri has received a new, lucrative offer to leave Juventus and move to Saudi Arabia this summer, with a wage packet that could more than triple the 55-year-old’s current salary.

Allegri and his entourage were made aware of the initial offer from Saudi Arabia during a meeting in Monte Carlo at the beginning of June, although the first contacts did not yield a positive outcome.

Now, it has been revealed by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Allegri has received an extraordinary new three-year contract proposal, worth €30m per season, but with no signing-on bonuses included.

At present, Allegri takes home a guaranteed annual salary of €7m with €2m in bonuses and performance related add-ons and is currently tied to the club until 2025.

There is still no guarantee over which club Allegri would be joining. La Gazzetta reports that it is likely to be between either Al-Hilal or Al-Ahli, although the situation is slightly complicated given that the Saudi federation controls the league’s transfer activity.

Allegri is currently on holiday with his family in Sardinia, but it is believed by numerous outlets that it is still his intention to remain with Juventus.
