Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis wants to bring fans back ‘as soon as possible’ but stressed the importance of not rushing anything until it’s ‘100 per cent safe’.

Serie A 2020-21 starts on September 19, but it’s expected to resume without fans in the stands and Gazidis said it’s important to act ‘responsibly’.

“We are very happy to be here to talk about the new season,” Gazidis said at a press conference. “COVID-19 was a very important challenge for us and for our community.

“We hope to return to the stadium with our fans as soon as possible, it’s a fundamental part of fooball. But we can only do it when it’s 100 per cent safe.
