Gennaro Gattuso always was known for his generosity and heart, so decided to surprise Valencia employees with Christmas gifts worth thousands of Euros.
According to El Desmarque, Gattuso surprised those who work for the club and at the Mestalla stadium with gifts and donations to charity.
The Italian coach sat down with the club’s social media team to describe his love for the festivities and what it means as he gets older.
“I love Christmas, I remember when I was six or seven years old, Christmas was special and I have great memories of time with my father, mother, the whole family. It was very important in my house.
“I was home with my family for two days with my parents too, but then came back here on December 26 to resume training.”
It was different in his youth growing up as part of a large family in Calabria.
“I remember there were 30-40 people all in a small house, all very happy. It was a simple Christmas, people preparing different dishes, a wonderful atmosphere.
“Life has given me a great deal. I prefer to give gifts rather than receive them.”
