Gennaro Gattuso warns the difference between sixth place and seventh is “life-changing” as Milan prepare to face Fiorentina.

“I don’t feel calm at all, as it won’t be an easy game and Fiorentina will give it their all,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Fiorentina have no tension, it’s all on us. They also have a young side like ours and are very dangerous when attacking space, so we need to be wary."

Atalanta have a superior head-to-head difference with Milan, so the Rossoneri must finish ahead of the Orobici.

“There is a big difference between the Champions League and Europa League, so we have regrets over dropped points, but then if we consider where we started, then we can be content. Mainly, we dropped five points against Benevento.

“Sixth place is life-changing, because if we finish sixth then we can have a pre-season tour in America and start the campaign later. We can stay here to train for 15 days in a row and we haven’t experienced that in a long time.

“Otherwise, we’ll have to do everything in a rush, it changes our lives and fitness levels. It’s not to be taken for granted, just look at what happened yesterday in Frosinone-Foggia.”

Foggia had nothing to play for, but equalised 2-2 at the 89th minute, giving Parma automatic promotion to Serie A and sending Frosinone to the play-offs.

Pepe Reina has already been confirmed from Napoli as a free agent, but Gattuso gave hints as to Milan’s other reinforcements.

“We will not bring more than three or four players, while 90-95 per cent of the current squad will remain. We’ll bring in players of experience, who have already been in certain matches, because that’s what we need to reinforce this side.”

Suso is out of action with an injury in training, but Gattuso responded to reports the winger could be sold.

“He is very important for us. Suso doesn’t want to leave, I spoke to him. Suso’s problem is that he has a release clause. No player has come to me and said they want to leave.”
