Coach Gennaro Gattuso had high praise for Milan target Yunus Musah, calling the Valencia midfielder ‘a great buy’.

Gattuso spent half a season in charge of the Spanish side last term, overseeing 22 matches from his arrival in the summer to the end of January.

Musah has impressed at Valencia and is now seemingly ready for the next step in his career, with Milan working to pick him up in the coming weeks.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Gattuso gave his thoughts on Musah, believing he’d be a good fit for Milan.

“He reminds me of the Frank Kessie of before. First of all, he is a good boy, then he has great strength in his legs. My advice is this: you have to wait for him. I consider him a great buy.”

Recent media reports suggest that Milan are now discussing the terms of a deal with Valencia, hoping to pay around €20m including add-ons for the 20-year-old midfielder. Other clubs, like Fulham, are also interested in the American.

Last season, Musah made 37 appearances across all competitions for the Spanish side, providing two assists across 2358 minutes of action.
