The pressure mounts on the Partenopei coach, as the Orobici secured a place in the Final of the Italian Cup on Wednesday night.

Gattuso felt his men could have done more, especially on the goals conceded, and admitted the Azzurri struggled in the first 45 minutes.

“We could have done much better on the three goals,” he told Rai Sport after the match. “In the first half we struggled.

“We showed passion in the second half, but the third goal cut our legs. The team had the strength to react at 2-0, but that’s not enough.

“We keep our heads high and we’ll rediscover the enthusiasm.”

Napoli prepare to face Juventus in Serie A this weekend, a game that could be crucial for Gattuso to keep his job at the Stadio Diego Maradona.

The coach added that he hadn't spoken to President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

“I didn’t talk to him, he didn’t tell me anything.”
