Gennaro Gattuso admits he misses Milan, but says he’s not ready for the San Siro bench at this stage of his career.

The former midfielder is a free agent after leaving his most recent coaching job at OFI Crete, but isn’t putting his name in the hat to replace Filippo Inzaghi.

“I miss Milan and Milanello, but not being a footballer,” Gattuso revealed to Radio 24.

“I miss Milan and Milanello, but not being a footballer,” Gattuso revealed to Radio 24.

“I did more than I ever thought I would, I have no regrets. There’s an incredible organisation at Milan, all you have to think about is playing and winning, and that’s it.

“Me instead of Inzaghi? I’d rather get a little bit more experience first, I want to move forward slowly.

“You have to get experience in the heat of battle, being a player and a Coach are two very different things.

“A Coach has to be good at talking to people, managing a dressing room of 30 people is not easy. You have to get results, because if things aren’t going well the Coach is the first to be blamed.”
