Gennaro Gattuso has denied reports he was asked to be Sinisa Mihajlovic’s assistant manager at Napoli.
The rumours were swirling around over the last few hours that Sampdoria boss Mihajlovic would replace Rafa Benitez with Gattuso in his staff.
“I don’t know anything about Napoli,” Gattuso told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I have not been contacted by anyone.”
Meanwhile, this afternoon President Aurelio De Laurentiis flew in to Naples and had lunch with Benitez and director Riccardo Bigon.

It’s widely belived Benitez has decided not to renew his contract, which expires next month.
