Gennaro Gattuso has likened Juventus boss Antonio Conte to Al Pacino following his widely publicised motivational speech. “I was fired up by it.”

Conte was recently caught on camera giving a 12-minute team talk to his players during training in a scene reminiscent of Al Pacino in the Any Given Sunday film.

“Juventus are giving everything on and off the pitch,” said the Milan man. “Conte seems like Al Pacino and his team talk with his squad charged me up too.”

The Rossoneri went back to the top of the table last night with a hard fought 1-0 win over Chievo Verona.

“We needed to give a response and although we struggled, we got the result we required in Verona. It will be a battle until the end with Juve.

“I hear a lot of rubbish being spoken about Milan and our Coach. This squad is healthy and it has a desire for victory.

“This team has been at the top for two years, but it can happen that you play badly and lose like we did against Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”19″>Fiorentina. It may occur to Juventus too.”

Gattuso started the game last night after recovering from a serious optical nerve problem with his eye.

“How am I? I just know that I’m on 10-15 tablets a day, my wife has to remind me to take them because I forget.

“I’m full of cortisone and that is not nice, but I do it for my love of football. The fact that I started against Chievo is a miracle.”

The 2006 World Cup winner was also asked about reports suggesting that Andrea Pirlo has invited Alessandro Nesta and Clarence Seedorf to join him at Juventus next season.

“I don’t like that Pirlo is calling Nesta and Seedorf. Has he contacted me? No, just the Arabs phone me,” he smiled.

Juve have denied interest in Nesta.
