Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was fined €10,000 and handed a touchline ban for insulting the referee, while there are 10 Serie A players suspended this weekend.

Gasperini was furious during the 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina when Ruslan Malinovskyi’s goal was disallowed for what was considered to be an active offside position.

As per protocol, it should’ve been viewed by the referee with an on-field review, but the VAR made the decision autonomously.

Gasperini was sent off for insulting the referee and has been given a one-match ban, along with a €10,000 fine.

Member of staff Cristian Raimondi has also been suspended for one game, having insulted the officials after the final whistle.
