“I’d love to have a team full of youngster and loan players,” he told La Republlica.

“But if it were that simple then everyone would be doing that, spending no money whatsoever.

“All I want, really, is for players to understand what I’m asking of them, and for them to be clear with me.

“After that, we just have to work as hard as possible. Over the past few years, Milito, Thiago Motta and Palacio are the ones that really stand out for me.

“But there’s no reason why we can’t take a 20-year-old and give him time to become as good as those players.”
