Gian Piero Gasperini welcomed two of his Atalanta first team players back to training on Wednesday, including Italy international Nicolo Zaniolo, who could be in line to feature against Fiorentina in Serie A on Saturday.

Zaniolo back in full Atalanta training

Zaniolo and Ibrahim Sulemana returned to full first team training on Wednesday, four days off their return to domestic action after the first international break of the season.

Zaniolo, who joined Atalanta on loan with an option to buy from Galatasaray in the summer, has played just 20 minutes of competitive action since his return to Serie A.

Those minutes came at the end of La Dea’s 2-1 loss to Torino in the second round of Serie A fixtures of the 2024-25 campaign. He has since been recovering from pain in his adductor muscles.

According to updates from Alfredo Pedulla, Atalanta defender Berat Djimsiti and Sead Kolasinac have been training individually, while Giorgio Scalvini and Gianluca Scamacca continue their recoveries from long-term ACL injuries.
