Gian Piero Gasperini said Atalanta are not distracted by the Coppa Italia Final against Juventus and focus on securing a place in the Champions League.

The Orobici need another win to secure a place in the prestigious European Cup and face Genoa on Satruday, who have already secured safety in Serie A.

But Gasperini’s men have also qualified for the the Coppa Italia Final on May 19, and the coach is happy about the current situation in Bergamo.

“I would have signed in September to be in the Final of the Coppa Italia and fighting for a place in the Champions League,” Gasperini said at a press conference.

“We know that we have to score at least three points in two matches, and we will try immediately. We are focused on this game; we are not looking ahead.

“We know the importance of our targets and we can achieve it with our strength, without looking at others.”

Davide Ballardini has helped Genoa to safety and Gasperini expects a difficult game.

“Genoa are an excellent team, they have valuable players and depth in every department,” he said. “Serie A always hides difficulties. Those with strong motivations, like us, have a higher level of concentration.

“This is crucial, we must always be careful.”

Gasperini should have Rafael Toloi back in action, but confirmed Luis Muriel is doubtful ahead of the match at the Marassi.

“There’s a problem because he has not completely recovered from the bruise he treated on Wednesday night,” Gasp said.
