Gian Piero Gasperini is looking to make it six consecutive wins over Salernitana coach Pippo Inzaghi when the Granata visit the Gewiss Stadium in Serie A on Monday evening, as the Atalanta coach boasts a 100% record over his counterpart.

Gasperini recorded his first win over Inzaghi while still at Genoa, beating Milan 3-1 at San Siro in April 2015.

The other four wins have all come during Gasperini’s Atalanta reign, defeating Inzaghi twice while he was at Bologna in 2018-19, and twice when he was with Benevento between 2019 and 2021.

Even more encouragingly for Atalanta, they have never conceded at home against a team coached by Inzaghi, although the same cannot be said about team’s managed by his brother, Inter boss Simone.

Gasperini holds a proud record against Salernitana as well, having only lost against them once, in the away match in May near the end of the 2022-23 season.

Inzaghi, meanwhile, has only beaten Atalanta once in his coaching career, which came in a 3-1 victory in May 2015 during his Milan spell.
