Gian Piero Gasperini is confident Atalanta’s win at Chievo last weekend has given them their ‘belief’ back.

Atalanta thrashed Chievo 5-1 to end a nine-match run without victory, but the going doesn’t get any easier for the Dea, who face a Parma side on Saturday with four wins in their last six games.

“Parma are a good team, they’ve started well and they’ve already won two important games away from home,” Gasperini said at a Press conference.

“We’ll try to get back to winning ways at home. After our win at Chievo, it’s crucial that we find confirmation and continuity in our play.

“We must play with belief, which we have in the past and less so recently. We hope the Chievo match has freed us in that respect.

“Parma are a tricky team to face: all their players do defensive work and they’re dangerous on the break so we’ll have to be careful.

“In order to improve our position, we need a positive run of results. The win at Chievo gave confidence and enthusiasm to everyone: we’ve worked well this week.”
