The Orobici are without a win in seven Serie A rounds, so an eighth would be their worst run since March 2016.
“We have the opportunity now to improve a great deal and begin again with renewed confidence. It’s going to be a tricky game, but we’ve got to build on the things that we already know well and feel secure with.
“Our intention is to overcome those situations that so far have prevented us from picking up more points. That means going back to basics and relying on our style of football.”
Chievo sacked Lorenzo D’Anna before the Serie A break and make their debut under new Coach Ventura, in his first job since the Italy flop.
“It’s going to be a game full of hidden dangers, because if you watch Chievo’s performances so far this season, they have all been pretty evenly-balanced.
“I expect Ventura has more motivation than anyone and Chievo offered him a fascinating opportunity.”
