Gasp: ‘Genoa superior to Milan’

Gian Piero Gasperini said Genoa “were superior to Milan,” even if they played better before the red card.

Blerim Dzemaili’s deflected free kick decided the 1-0 result and Alessio Romagnoli was sent off before half-time.

“Paradoxically, we played much better in the first half and deserved to be 1-0 up, then fell away after the break when against 10 men,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“Milan did well too and we ran more risks than were necessary, then were unable to make the most of the spaces that opened up for us.

“I think Genoa were superior to Milan on the day and we played better. The yellow cards were inarguable, as they were second to the ball and had to resort to fouls.”
