Gian Piero Gasperini feels Genoa is “the ideal club” for M’Baye Niang after his brace to beat Verona 5-2.

The French striker is on loan from Milan and had never previously scored in Serie A, but found the net twice today.

“It turned into a very entertaining game, even if we ran too many risks,” Gasp told Radio Rai.

“We’ve had these lapses of concentration in defence before and paid a heavy price for them, but this time we compensated for those by being more clinical in attack.

“Niang scored two great goals, but also put in an overall top level performance. We knew his qualities when we signed him and it’s no coincidence he was in the Milan ranks.

“At Genoa he may well have found the ideal club to mature and express himself. Milan need players who are ready, whereas we provide the best environment for these youngsters to grow.”
