La Dea saw off the challenge of Genoa this afternoon, winning 3-1 in Bergamo, to remain a point clear of Milan with three matches remaining of the season.
Speaking post-match, the experienced Coach admitted any win at the business end of the season is a difficult task.
“Winning in this period is very difficult for anyone and we did it with a great first half,” Gasperini commented.
“These are three points which leave the table as it was, but with one more game played.
“We have a small advantage which allows us to approach the coming matches with the right attitude.
“We made a few mistakes, which gave Genoa confidence. And the goal we conceded made us finish on the backfoot a little.”
Gasperini was asked about the contributions of attacking players Josip Ilicic and Musa Barrow.
“For these last matches, both are players who give us the opportunity to change things and have quality in attack.
“When you have quality players in the squad, there can be periods that are more favourable for one player or the other.
“But everyone here is giving their contribution.
“I haven’t seen any signs of tension but the heat is starting to come onto us.
“This team is focused and wants to reach the Europa League, even though it won’t be easy.
“There are big obstacles that still await us.”
