Garcia: ‘Roma still need three’

Roma Coach Rudi Garcia is still expecting three new signings, and was disappointed to lose four goals to Sevilla.

The Giallorossi emerged victorious in 10-goal thriller at Stadio Olimpico this evening, but were 6-0 up with 20 minutes to play.

“In attack we were good,” Garcia told Roma TV after the match.

“We scored good goals, like the third. At half-time I told the lads I wanted to win the second half, and we lost 4-2.

“There’s work to be done, I’m waiting for two central defenders since [Mapou] Yanga-Mbiwa has left.

“Then we need a full-back, although [Vasilis] Torosidis had a great game. It was a great evening for the fans, but from the Coach’s point of view it’s never good to concede for goals.

“We’ve grown so much in terms of our play. We showed we were at a high level in the away friendlies, but it was important to do it here at the Olimpico.

“Now we have eight days to prepare for Verona, so we’re ready to go for the start of the season. The team’s play makes chances, and individual quality makes the difference.

“The attack and midfield are fine, but I don’t have much time to work on the defence as the new buys are arriving late.

“That’s ok though, we did it last year with Manolas and Holebas, we’ll do it again this year.”
