Garcia: ‘Roma did well tactically’

Roma Coach Rudi Garcia praised Roma’s ‘tactical’ performance in their 3-1 win over Udinese this evening.

The Giallorossi’s victory ensures that they remain at the summit of Serie A after 10 rounds of action, but the Frenchman wouldn’t be drawn into Scudetto talk.

“I fielded a team that could also change formation, but it wasn’t needed because we did well tactically,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“Maicon did very well – when he’s like this it’s always good for our team.

“I fielded a team that could also change formation, but it wasn’t needed because we did well tactically,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“Maicon did very well – when he’s like this it’s always good for our team.

“It’s crucial to stretch our positive streak, we have to think about one game at a time.

“Without thinking about the Champions League, although it will be an exciting game.

“Dzeko’s performance? I don’t like to put individuals in the spotlight, but to win you need that 14 who are called up do well.

“I'm not worried about Edin, he will score many goals with us. He needs playing time, he’s very useful to the team. He’s a reference point for everyone.

“The African Cup of Nations stopped Gervinho because it is always difficult to come back from a competition like this.

“I never liked this competition being in January, the players return are never the same when they come back. He worked hard in pre-season and now he’s the real Gervinho.

“The advantage over Juve? "We think about ourselves, three of our pursuers have won.

“We gained three points on a rival. Juve will come back, they have a great team and a top-level Coach.”
